ABC Food App Reviews

Too much video

There are a lot of great features to this app, but I ended up removing it because there is far too much video and my 2 1/2 year old just ended up watching videos over and over again. They are also a little random as far as source material goes. More of the educational elements and perhaps videos as treats would be far preferable. Otherwise, Id just be letting him watch TV.

Chopping sound is obnoxious.

Decent app but the loud, repetitive chopping sound effect used in many of the activities is awful, it makes me want to slam a car door on my head for relief. Just replace it with the slicing or "sparkley" sounds you already use on other activities and this app is 4 stars. Please update, I have a headache!

Awesome

This is my daughters favorite app. It not only introduces her to new foods but teaches the alphabet. She has so much fun with it. Highly recommended.

Wonderful!

My daughter is 5 and loves this app! It is so interactive and fun! She learns a lot- from how to cook and follow recipes to learning new songs to sing along to. We have tried recipes from the video links and she gets so excited! This app, and all the apps that are like it, are wonderful and so worth buying! Your child will love it, and you will too!

Got to have it

My son is really love this App. We have been loaded since March but he is still play it. They have a lot inside for kids to explore. Overall LOVE THIS APP.

LOVE this app!

All the Peapod Labs applications are perfect. They have infectious music, wonderful pictures and interactivity, and the vocabulary is rigorous and varied. (Quinoa! Xo sauce! Udon!) As an elementary educator, I highly recommend each app that they offer.

A Must Have

Love, love, love all of the PeaPod Lab apps...we have All the ABC ONES. They are all must haves for Learning with Fun! Love that you can touch and or Swipe through each item, interactive activity or a short video clip for each item as well. The letters that spell out each word can be touched and takes you straight to that letter of the alphabet (cool feature). Weve had these since my LO was 12 months and shes now 2 YO. Cant wait to buy preK learning ones. PeaPod app support for response/suggestions are fast and always personalized, not automatically generated like other app support Ive come across!

So entertaining

My 2.5 yr old loves this app and so do I! At least 2 or 3 different foods for each letter and at least 2-3 pictures with some activity (cutting, splitting, a video, fun fact) per food, often more. All with real life pictures not animations. So far she loves "the pancake man" the best. Maybe we will try his recipe. We are loving all the Peapod Labs apps but this is by far her favorite.

SLP app

Great app for young students with language impairments. Especially like the peeling feature for them to see the entire food characteristics. Would love more foods to be added. Song gets a bit monotonous quickly.

Perfect!!

Excellent app for my kids! They loved!!!!

Very cute!

My sons and I love this app. We use it in the grocery store, they enjoy finding the items Im throwing in the cart on their game. It makes grocery shopping more enjoyable for them, quicker for me, and most of all educational. It would be an impossible task to get my two year old to be excited about an avocado, but with this app he gets to find the fruit in alphabetical order, with vibrant colorful photos and cute music, and VIDEOS! I used to just give them my wireless device, let them play angry birds while u shopped, and theyd get antsy before I was through, but with this app its like a scavenger hunt till we get to the register.

Awesome!!

We Love all Peapod Labs apps especially this updated version! Great to work on kids reading skills!! Kudos!!

Kid lost interest in 5 minutes

The app is two things: a word matching game and a game where the child rubs their fingers over pictures to see what food looks like when peeled/opened/etc. It is rated for ages under 5, but if your kid doesnt read yet then half the game is useless. And the other half is so simple that even my 3 year old got bored instantly. For example, there is no reward for the kid when they finish unwrapping a drawing. The app cost me $2.99 but is probably worth 99 cents, and even then only if your kid can read. On the plus side, the art is fine and it was bug free. But some of the videos were of low resolution.
